The fact that Ickleford won this local derby and consigned Knebworth to relegation was almost exclusive down to one Ickleford Cricketer as Matt Baxter completed his second unbeaten century against Park this season amassing 278 in the two matches.
Set 167 to win the villagers were 116 for 8 with opener Matt on 54. The ninth wicket partnership with Luke Marsden finished unbroken as Matt scored another 47 to reach 101 to see them home by 2 wickets. Only Jack Good with 28 had been able to muster double figures.
For Knebworth Khanbar Iqbal took 3 for 46 in his 10 overs and Muhaamed Asif 2 for 30 in his. Gareth Jones also took 2 wickets for 69.
Earlier Knebworth's score of 166 for 8 from 50 overs was almost entirely due to Josh Roseberry's 78 ably supported by Charlie Randall with 22. For Ickleford skipper Matt Marsden took 3 for 23 and Eswar Krishnamurthy 2 for 41.
